COELA
Coela was an ancient town in the southern part of Chersonesos Thraciae, a peninsula near the Dardanelles. From the 4th century B.C. it issued gold and silver coins with the bust of Alexander III (336 – 323 B.C.)
At the beginning of the 2nd century it received the right to struck Greek Imperial coins and exercised this right for about 150 years.
ELAEOS
Elaeos was an ancient town in the southern part of Chersonesos Thraciae, a peninsula near the Dardanelles. Founded in about the 4th century B.C., silver coins were struck there until the Imperial period.
SESTOS
Sestos was an ancient town on the Thracian shore of the Hellespont (now Dardanelles) opposite Abydos (in present-day Turkey). It was the scene of the story of Hero and Leander. It was there that Xerxes entered Thrace on his invasion of Greece, crossing the Hellespont on a bridge of boats. The city was later controlled by Athens and remained important in Roman times, but declined after the founding of Byzantium (now Istanbul).
